Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Happy Home Paradise Release Date Switch
Happy Home Paradise is the title of the first paid DLC for the bestselling Animal Crossing: New Horizons, released in 2020. Along with the add-on, a free update has debuted introducing a lot of new content and a number of improvements.
Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise takes us to a paradise archipelago, whose infrastructure we have to adapt to the needs of the characters visiting it. As a planner from Lottie's team (known from Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer) we mainly deal with refreshing and decorating the interiors of the houses, adjusting them to the individual needs of each guest. We can, for example, modify the color scheme of rooms by changing wallpapers on the walls, and insert new furniture or add various decorations, as well as arrange them on a more basic level by building partition walls or pillars. And when we have the interior perfected, we can go outside and make changes in the appearance of the house (for example by changing its roof or facade) and its immediate surroundings (for example by placing garden furniture or fences). To top it all off, we can change the season and impact the weather.
However, characters visiting the island need not only houses, but also various attractions and public buildings. As a result, DLC quickly forces us to think about schools, hospitals or restaurants, to which we must devote as much attention as the houses themselves.
During the game we gain a new currency, Poki. Earned money can be spent on buying items in a special store, and then make use of them both in the archipelago and on our main island. In addition, we can publish photographs of our creations on the Internet, through the Happy Home Network App.
In November 2021, with the addition of Happy Home Paradise, the basic version of the game received Update 2.0. Among the most important novelties introduced by the creators, the most important are previously unavailable locations (such as Brewster's The Roost Cafe in the Museum or open-air stores on Harv's Island), attractions (such as boat trips to mysterious islands organized by Kapp'na) and functions (led by the possibility of cultivating the land and cooking various dishes). The familiar gyroids also return. IIn addition, there are plenty of new cosmetic items and customization options.
Happy Home Paradise is a non standalone expansion pack and requires the base version of Animal Crossing: New Horizons to run.
