Audica

Audica is a game combining elements of FPS and rhythm game, developed for VR sets by Harmonix Music Systems, a team whose portfolio includes games from the Rock Band, Guitar Hero and Dance Central series.

Mechanics

In Audica we observe the action from first-person perspective. The game takes place on boards with space motifs (we see nebulaes and galaxies in the background). During the game we play the role of a character holding two blasters - orange and blue - and our task is to shoot at targets corresponding to the color of the weapon, to the rhythm of electronic music. Our actions are evaluated by a scoring system on an ongoing basis, and in order to take the highest possible place in the online rankings, we must demonstrate not only a sense of rhythm, but also accuracy, reflexes and perceptiveness.

Game modes

Audica consists of a campaign and a training mode that enables us to improve our skills. In addition, developers enabled us to choose one of four levels of difficulty.

Technical aspects

Audica features colorful, three-dimensional graphics in a style resembling the Tron film series. Among the thirty tracks accompanying the game we can find songs by such artists as deadmau5, Noisia, Savant or DragonForce.
