They Shall Not Pass is the first pay-to-play expansion pack for Battlefield 1 – a 2016 FPS, which, for the first time in the series, took the players to the theater of World-War I, offering an opportunity to fight on different frontlines of the Great War. Both the core game and this expansion were created by DICE – a Swedish developer that has been part of Electronic Arts since 2006.

Mechanics & Game modes

Battlefield 1: They Shall Not Pass for PC, XONE and PS4 brings a new game mode called Frontlines, which mingles two, already-existing modes, namely Conquest and Rush. Two sides of the conflict fight one another for control over certain, chainedpoints – when a single spot gets into the hands of one team, the fight is carried over to the next place. Once the last point – the headquarters – is in control of a team, a sequence resembling the Rush mode begins – one team attacks telegraph posts and the other defends them against the opposition.

Fenix Bazaar: 9 / 10 by Gaetano Prestia

We’ve waited a while for Battlefield 1‘s first expansion to hit, and it’s a mighty impressive addition to what was already a fantastic game.

If ‘They Shall Not Pass’ is any indication of DICE’s long-term plans for Battlefield 1, fans have got a great season ahead of them.

NEOsite: 8 / 10 by Paweł Musiolik

DICE does not go down below a certain level so is this case. "They shall not pass" is a successful add-on that introduces some fresh air to Battlefield 1 multiplayer modes. It would have been better if 2 or 3 missions were added to single player campaign, but we can't have everything what we wish for.
