Ben 10 Description
Ben 10 for PC, PS4 and etc. offers arcade-action gameplay and was developed by Torus Games, The game is based on the license of a popular animated series bearing the same title; we have had an opportunity to watch Ben 10 on Cartoon Network.
Plot
The player takes on the role of the titular character, who once again has to face the forces of evil threatening the entire world. The protagonist is not alone however – while struggling to fulfill the mission, he can count on his cousin Gwen and his grandfather Max.
Mechanics
Similarly to previous games from the series, Ben 10 for PC, PS4 and etc. is played from a third-person view. The player traverses diverse locations, jumps across platforms, avoids different threats, solves simple, environmental puzzles and fights the encountered enemies.
Among the opponents, the player will find mainly the adversaries that appeared in the TV series – for instance, Zombozo, Queen Bee, or the Weatherheads. In combat, the player makes use of Ben Tennyson's unique abilities – using the special Omnitrix device, he can shapeshift into the forms of ten creatures from other planets, which gives him an advantage over his foes; the player unlocks new forms gradually. Juggling quick light attacks and slower, but stronger strikes is also crucial for victory in combat, apart from skilfully combining attacks into spectacular combos.
Technical aspects
Ben 10 for PC, PS4 and etc. offers simple visuals that make a reference to the original TV series in terms of their style – both the character models and environmental objects were created using cel-shading techniques. On the whole, the visuals are catchy because of the rich color palette.
