An action-adventure game starring a badger. Bradley the Badger exemplifies metafiction, as our protagonist is consciously inside a game and he manipulates its rules using a set of development tools. The game playfully references various AAA games.
Founded by former Ubisoft employees, the indie studio Day 4 Night has set out to design an action adventure game with a storyline inspired by the team's experience in game development. The 3D platformer titled Bradley the Badger humorously references popular games, such as Bloodborne, Cyberpunk 2077, and The Last of Us.
As an anthropomorphic badger armed with a frying pan, we explore worlds with unfinished textures to fight enemies, skillfully overcome obstacles, and manipulate the environment using developer tools. Bradley the Badger allows us to reprogram the properties of objects, including adjusting their scale, changing their shape, dragging platforms, or modifying the effects of gravity.
Depending on the need, the titular badger can take control of any unfinished object in the game world (from a toy robot to a truck), make walls temporarily climbable to reach secret passages and observation points, and even give harmless objects the properties of a bomb.
We use the badger's manipulations to fight enemies. By enlarging objects, we can crush opponents, while playing with surface geometry allows us to create our own shields, platforms, and paths. Additional powers include copying, liquefying, and debugging.
The protagonist of Bradley the Badger is the hero of popular platformers. Bradley wakes up in a world of unfinished levels straight out of "other" AAA productions. Wishing to return home, he embarks on a journey to save his world and friends.
Bradley the Badger boasts detailed visual design and a variety of aesthetics in the worlds he visits.

Every year, Geoff Keighley's Game Awards is a great opportunity to reflect on the past year, even if it often seems more preoccupied with what comes next.
