Burning Daylight is an adventure game with arcade elements. The game was created by an independent team of twelve developers from the Danish Animation Workshop school in Viborg.
Burning Daylight takes players on a journey into the dystopian world of the future. Since life on the surface of the planet is no longer possible, people live in huge megastructures. One of them can be explored as a hero suffering from amnesia, whom players meet when he wakes up in a slaughterhouse. His task is to escape from this grotesque place, to get to know the rules governing the life of the whole society, and to discover his own identity. It is complicated by the fact that the only clue he has at the beginning is the tattoo that decorates his chest.
In Burning Daylight, the action is shown primarily from the side perspective, however, in selected moments the camera changes its location. During the game players reach various places - from the above mentioned slaughterhouse, through streets full of passers-by, to the stinking, roadside bar. The production focuses on telling stories, mainly through environmental narration. Simple puzzles play a secondary role.
Burning Daylight has 2.5D visuals. Its colours are kept in dark tones, and the disturbing atmosphere is intensified by the music accompanying players on their adventure.
