Clan O'Conall and the Crown of the Stag is a platform game inspired by Celtic folklore. The game was developed by the independent Canadian studio HitGrab, which, while designing mechanics, was clearly inspired by the popular Trine series.

Plot

Clan O'Conall and the Crown of the Stag takes us on a journey to the world of Celtic myths and legends - to the fantastic land of Hibernia, which Caoránach is trying to conquer. The Mother of Demons intends to kill the leader Ardan and seize the power of the Crown of the Stag to start a war between people and spiritual beings known as Aos Sí. But three heirs to the throne stand in its way. We control them during the game.

Mechanics

In Clan O'Conall and the Crown of the Stag action we observe from the side. Like the Trine series, the game provides us with three main characters at the same time, between whom we can switch at any time. We are talking about a battle-hardened warrior with excellent command of white weaponry, a powerful brute solving problems with a fist and an agile and fast archer. Each hero has individual skills; they are going through picturesque stages where there are various dangers and the proper use of the abilities is the key to success.

The heroes must jump on the platforms, avoid numerous traps and to face hordes of enemies. Clashes are dynamic, with mighty bosses outnumbering the other enemies in terms of both size, attack strength and damage resistance. In addition, the abilities of our heroes are useful for solving environmental puzzles that add variety to the game.

Technical aspects

Clan O'Conall and the Crown of the Stag has colourful, two-dimensional graphics in a pleasing to the eye style referring to the aesthetics of illustrations decorating Celtic manuscripts.
