A third person perspective stealth action game belonging to the famous Metal Gear Solid franchise. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was created by the Japanese studio Kojima Productions (formerly a subsidiary of Konami) led by Hideo Kojima. The story is set after the events presented in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which served as a prologue. The main hero – Punished Snake – awakes in a hospital bed after having spent 8 years in a coma. Soon after, the hospital is attacked by armed thugs and the protagonist has to escape using help from the mysterious character calling himself Ishmael. In contrast with the previous iterations of the series, the game offers open world structure, giving players much more freedom. The developers also employed a brand new FOX Engine to power the game’s photorealistic visuals and advanced physics.

One of the installments in the economy strategy game series started in 2001 - Tropico. The game has been developed by Limbic Entertainment - the creators of Might & Magic X: Legacy and Might & Magic: Heroes VII. In Tropico 6, the player assumes the role of El Presidente - the leader of a banana republic. The objective is to manage the country by developing the cities, providing the citizens with jobs, fixing the damage caused by various natural disasters, as well as issuing decrees that shape both domestic and foreign policies. One of the novelties delivered by Tropico 6 is the fact that the action of the game no longer takes place on a single island - instead, the country is spread between multiple islands, all of which have to be managed by the player at the same time. The islands can be connected by bridges and tunnels. The game also features agents, who can be dispatched to various corners of the world to - not entirely legally - obtain blueprints for certain structures, such as the Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower. Moreover, the developers decided to allow the players to modify the main palace and appear before the society. During a speech, a player can e.g. make populistic promises.

Phantom Doctrine is an espionage strategy game developed by the Polish developer CreativeForge Games. The action of the game is set in the 1980 and depicts an alternative version of the Cold War. The player spearheads a secret intelligence agency with the objective to stop a global plot to take control of the entire world. One has to recruit new agents, train and equip them, and provide them with false identities. It is necessary to complete reconnaissance missions, trade information, interrogate prisoners, and manage the operational budget. The missions themselves play an essential role in the game - during a mission, the player has to lead a team comprising of over a dozen agents. Each mission is turn-based. In the game, the player can mount frontal attacks with heavy weaponry as well as assume a more covert approach to complete the objectives. The game has been designed to allow high replayability. The situation in the virtual world tends to change rapidly and many elements are randomly generated. The players get three characters at their disposal - each one with a unique story, which significantly affects the gameplay.

The main highlight of the gameplay is taking care of the country’s budget, which is fed by resource mining and production of various goods. The citizens’ happiness is also an important aspect. We take care of them through creating various public utility buildings. To get the political chaos under control, we can use military, bribes, intimidation, or even public executions. If brutal methods don’t serve their purpose anymore, we can attempt to talk with the opposition, and in case of a natural disaster, The Red Cross will heed our call. In the fourth installment of the game, we are introduced to a new set of special buildings and a system of trading with neighboring countries.

The base of the game are dynamical sequences during which the player must eliminate opponents by guiding a crosshair on them and pulling the trigger. The developers created various weapons which the title character can use. They also used original dialogues from the movies.

A post-apocalyptic survival strategy game with RPG elements, created by Polish developer Robot Gentleman Studios. You play as the head of a typical American family, who has to provide for his loved ones in the face of an incoming nuclear war. The game starts 60 seconds before the first explosion, giving you one minute to get to a shelter while grabbing the most essential provisions on the way. In the next phase you have to survive for as long as you can using only the resources you've managed to gather, which often force you to make very tough decisions. Sometimes, you have to decide whose daily rations should be reduced, sometimes how to deal with problems at hand, such as a cockroach infestation. Despite its seemingly grim theme, the game features a rather light-hearted atmosphere, evident e.g. in its comic-like graphics.

For the first time in the history of the series the player can directly control the dictator and decide about his looks and abilities. As the leader, one can freely move across the island and directly influence various aspects of the nation. The terrain itself can also be freely shaped. A fully three-dimensional graphics engine provides excellent visual experience.

This led to the addition of completely new movements for the main protagonist, who now fights not only humans, but animals as well. The developers also implemented a new close quarter combat system and improved character's range of movement, which now allows you to change your position while holding enemy as a human shield.

A mix of simulation and strategy game developed by the independent studio Killerfish Games. The plot is loosely based on Tom Clancy’s works, telling an alternative version of history, in which the Cold War eventually turned into World War III. The player assumes the role of a submarine captain and tries to stop the Soviet Union’s plans to establish an outpost in Scandinavia. Mission objectives focus on fighting enemy naval and land units, preventing sea landings, and raiding convoys. We not only get an extensive arsenal at our disposal, which consists of torpedoes and long-range missiles, but also various kinds of defensive means and a realistic sonar. Combat takes place in real time. We get to face over forty types of enemy units, starting with ships, though submarines, to choppers and aircraft. The developers put emphasis on realism, which translates into battle tactics applied by our adversaries and units recreated with attention to detail.

An incredibly extensive strategy game created by Warfare Sims in cooperation with Slitherine - a renowned publishing company. The player is given an opportunity to take control of a fleet consisting of aircraft carriers, support ships, as well as attack and transport planes. The player takes part in dozens of scenarios referencing both historical events and fictional operations set in the near future. Both large-scope and smaller operations can be conducted here, but what really needs to be noted is that the creators were very diligent when recreating both the battlegrounds and the massive number of different factors affecting military operations. What is also worth mentioning, the game offers an advanced AI of both the enemies and the player's subordinates - they are all capable of applying various tactics. As a result, the AI can be left in charge of certain actions.
