Tako Boy Studios is an independent development team that has been around since 2018. In their portfolio, we can find projects such as Candles ‘n Curses, Creatures of Aether, which they co-created, and Cross Blitz described here. It is a card-based RPG enriched with a roguelite mode.

Gameplay

In Cross Blitz events are viewed from a top-down perspective.

Card battles

During the game we take on the roles of characters who traverse the fantasy land of Crossdawn (presented as boards covered with a grid of hexagonal fields) and face opponents lying in wait. Battles are turn-based, and during them, we play cards associated with specific attacks and offensive & defensive skills. Since these cards create various synergies and the game allows us to merge them into combos, we must make an effort to compose a deck whose individual elements complement each other.

Deck building

We acquire or craft new cards based on ingredients and recipes obtained along the way, using the services of the experienced Mawlder. Additionally, as we progress, we collect relics that increase our combat potential.
