New features in the DLC

Crusader Kings III: Wandering Nobles introduces a new Wandering Lifestyle. Players who decide on it can follow three paths and engage in the activities associated with them:

  1. Inspectors who own land can conduct estate reviews and implement improvements, while those without land can acquire environmental specializations.
  2. Wayfarers gain the opportunity to walk in the wilderness, thereby reducing stress.
  3. Voyagers can undertake pilgrimages towards exceptional buildings in their lands, increasing their language skills along the way.

In addition, the expansion brings previously unavailable events related to travel and specific lifestyles and activities.

The main cons of the game

  • Feels Like Cut Content: A significant number of reviews express disappointment that the DLC seems to be content that should have been included in the previous DLC, "Roads to Power," leading to accusations of it being a cash grab.
  • Limited Practical Use: The new lifestyle and its associated perks are often seen as niche and less useful compared to other existing lifestyles, making them less appealing for many players.
  • Event Spam: Some users find the frequent pop-up events related to wandering characters to be distracting and not meaningful, detracting from the overall gameplay experience.
  • Bugs and Technical Issues: Several reviews mention bugs and crashes, indicating that the DLC may not be fully polished.

The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users

  • More Depth and Immersion: Players feel that the events and activities lack depth and immersion, especially in terms of the travel experience and the uniqueness of locations visited.
  • Integration with Existing Content: Many users believe that the DLC should have better integrated with other elements of the game, particularly the "Roads to Power" DLC, to provide a more cohesive experience.
  • Expanded Mechanics: Some players express a desire for more substantial mechanics related to the new lifestyle, such as gaining experience for traveling or more impactful events associated with the new activities.
  • Quality of Events: There is a call for more engaging and varied events rather than repetitive or generic ones, which could enhance the replayability and enjoyment of the DLC.

Summary

  • Overall, while Wandering Nobles adds some interesting features to Crusader Kings III, the perception of it being a cash grab and its limited practical use have led to mixed reviews from players.
