In 2019, Team Ninja studio and Koei Tecmo put into the hands of players a brawler titled Dead or Alive 6, being the sixth installment of a series developed since 1996 (its first part was released on arcade machines two years before its release on PlayStation). Over time, it lived to see an expanded, definitive version, in the form of Dead or Alive 6: Last Round, described here.
Dead or Alive 6: Last Round includes all characters from the basic version of the game, as well as additional ones, such as Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel and Tamaki. Also implemented here are bonus costumes linked to other titles in the Team Ninja portfolio, such as Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge and Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation. In addition, there's a photo mode waiting to be checked out, where players can capture male and female warriors in various poses and settings.
To top it all off, the game has been adapted for new platforms and a feature to import costumes, premium tickets and saved gameplay states from the standard Dead or Alive 6.
Along with the paid release of Dead or Alive 6: Last Round, Dead or Alive 6: Last Round - Core Fighters has been made available, a free-to-play version of this production, in which you can take on characters such as Kasumi, Marie Rose, Honoka and NiCO. Players also get a photo mode at their disposal, and can have fun in the DOA Quest and DOA Central multiplayer modes.
In terms of gameplay , Dead or Alive 6: Last Round does not differ from what we know from the original. Thus, it is a tri-dimensional brawler in which we take on fighters and fighters with different fighting styles and strengths and weaknesses. The fighting system implemented in the game, in addition to the standard set of punches with fists and kicks, offers incapacitating grabs, special moves (available when the Break Gauge is filled), the Fatal Rush combination function or, finally, the ability to throw an opponent into the so-called Danger Zone, which inflicts additional damage.
Dead or Alive 6: Last Round can be played in either single or multiplayer mode. The game allows you to duel over the Internet or on a shared screen.
