Devolver Bootleg is a compilation of eight small games, developed by the independent Doinksoft studio and published by Devolver Digital. Players can find here variations on popular titles, mainly from the publisher's portfolio.
The first game to hit the Devolver Bootleg compilation is Enter The Gun Dungeon, a production inspired by Enter the Gungeon, in which players traverse dark undergrounds and eliminate adversaries with firearms. The second one is Hotline Milwaukee, which clearly refers to Hotline Miami, allowing players to take on the role of a masked killer. The third one is Ape Out Jr. and is a platform action game in which, as in Ape Out, one plays the role of a small gorilla killing anyone who stands in its way to meet its father again. Next on the list is Shootyboots, which refers to the popular Downwell, where players assume the role of a small hero wearing big shoes, which goes deeper and deeper into the well, eliminating opponents and gaining... better and better shoes.
The fifth game is Super Absolver Mini: Turbo Fighting Championship, a fighting game inspired by Absolver, in which one plays the role of masked warriors. The sixth place is taken by a game inspired by iconicCastlevania called Catsylvania, which tells the story of the adventures of a cat wearing an armour. The seventh position on the list is the production of PikuBiku Ball Stars (referring to the logical game called Pikunik), designed for fun in the company of the second player. The list closes with Luftrousers, a shoot'em up inspired by Luftrausers.
The productions of Devolver Bootleg has simple audiovisual layer straight from the era of eight-bit games.
