Disney Classic Games Collection

Disney Classic Games Collection: Aladdin, The Lion King, and The Jungle Book is a compilation of remastered versions of four classic platform games from the 1990s, developed by Digital Eclipse studio.

The set is an expanded version of the Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King collection released in 2019, so its owners can enhance it with new content for an additional fee. In addition to the refreshed versions of Disney's Aladdin from the Sega Mega Drive console and Disney's The Lion King known from the previous entry, the game includes a remastered Disney's Aladdin game from the Super Nintendo Entertainment System platform and remasters of two versions of the 1994 Disney's The Jungle Book game (also coming from consoles of both Japanese manufacturers).

Plot

While the main protagonist of Disney's Aladdin is Aladdin, whose task is to retrieve the magic lamp, in Disney's The Lion King we play a lion orphan named Simba, who has to regain the lost throne that was deceitfully taken by his uncle - Scar. Disney's The Jungle Book, on the other hand, tells the story of a boy raised by wolves named Mowgli, who must defeat the tiger known as Shere Khan, who is hunting him.

Mechanics

The productions in the Disney Classic Games Collection: Aladdin, The Lion King, and The Jungle Book are classic side-scrolling platform games. During the game we dash through colorful stages, jump on platforms, avoid numerous traps and face enemies.

Each of these games was enriched with solutions absent in the 16-bit originals. We are talking about the ability to go back in time after a defeat, skipping problematic parts or starting the game from any place, as well as the option to save the game state. In addition, numerous behind-the-scenes materials have been implemented, showing the behind-the-scenes process of developing these titles. All this is complemented by a player in which we can listen to soundtracks from various positions.

Technical aspects

Graphics of the games included in Disney Classic Games Collection: Aladdin, The Lion King, and The Jungle Book remained faithful to the original. However, the authors have adjusted it to 1080p resolution. In addition, the player can change the aspect ratio and apply special filters, including those imitating the game played on a CRT display.
