D.O.R.F. Real-Time Strategic Conflict PC

D.O.R.F. Real-Time Strategic Conflict is a real-time strategy game. It's a tribute of sorts to the most iconic strategy games from the 1990s while introducing some new features of its own. It was developed by an indie studio DORFTeam.

Plot

D.O.R.F. Real-Time Strategic Conflict is set in an alternate future, in which three factions wage war for world influence. The Empire to the north is a confederation of industrialists, aristocrats and militarists, once unstoppable, now stagnating and falling into ruin. There are also Barbarian tribes, once underestimated, now waiting for someone bold enough to unite them and lead them to conquering new lands. There's also a new world power forming in the east - New World Order, formed by private enterprises and local militias, possessing the most advanced technology. The player chooses one of the factions and leads it to conquer the others.

Mechanics

D.O.R.F. Real-Time Strategic Conflict is an isometric game. The gameplay doesn't differ much from other RTS games. The player must gather resources (ore, junk, oil), expand their base (buildings can be rotated to better fit into our headquarters), recruit new units and field powerful armies to battle our goes.

Battles take place on land, in the air and at sea. Apart from regular infantry we'll also field more advanced units, such as giant bombing zeppelins, multi-turreted tanks, mighty mecha and psionic soldiers. While leading them to battle we must remember to establish supply lines to keep delivering them a steady flow of resources, while when on the defensive we must start creating trenches.

While there's plenty of research for us to do on our own, we can also take over enemy factories and steal their tech.

Game modes

D.O.R.F. Real-Time Strategic Conflict supports singleplayer, as well as local and online multiplayer.

Technical aspects

D.O.R.F. Real-Time Strategic Conflict makes use of an artstyle reminiscent of iconic strategy games from the 1990s, especially Command & Conquer.
