Story

The main character of Evo Explores is the eponymous Evo, a robot exploring the secrets of the cosmos. The most recent globe, whose history and inhabitants he has decided to get to know, is the unusual planet Byte.

Mechanics

The celestial body on which we find ourselves in Evo Explores owes its originality to the fact that the standard laws of physics do not apply on its surface; solving puzzles requires, first of all, ingenuity. The action is observed in isometric view, and the game consists of leading the hero from the starting point to the exit. In order to do this, we must manipulate the perspective in such a way as to hide obstacles on the Evo road and create optical illusions. For example, a hole in a sidewalk hanging in the air can be hidden behind a pillar (according to the rule that an unseen problem does not exist), while two platforms observed at an appropriate angle will make an impression of being joined together.

Technical aspects

Evo Explores offers simple and clear graphics; the world depicted consists of locations built of simple, colorful solids, and the whole things adopts a distinctive style evoking associations with the aforementioned Monument Valley.
