Lara Croft GO for PC, iOS and etc. is a spin-off of the bestseller adventure Tomb Raider series with the beautiful archaeologist Lara Croft in the leading role. The game is developed by one of Square Enix’s studios, which is responsible for creating a mobile game featuring Agent 47 – Hitman GO.
Similarly to its warmly-received predecessor, the production is developed for users of the most popular mobile platforms, like Android, tablets, and PCs working on Windows 8/10.
Lara Croft GO takes us to a mysterious and forgotten world where you explore and search for treasures, temples, and tombs, which are filled with traps. The main thread of the plot revolves around a legend of the mythical Queen of Venom.
Similarly to other spin-offs to the Tomb Raider series, like Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, the action is seen from an isometric point of view. However, Lara Croft GO isn’t your usual mobile game, as it combines elements characteristic for the Tomb Raider series with mechanics borrowed from mentioned Hitman GO.
You go through different locations in the turn-based system by moving on predefined paths and the player’s goal is to make sure that Lara safely makes it through from the beginning till the end. It takes some careful planning, requires disarming traps, and eliminating enemies. To make things more complex, part of the location is not visible at the beginning, so each inconsiderate move can cost a lot.
Divided into five chapters, there are 75 levels filled with various puzzles. With the progress you can unlock additional outfits for Lara as a reward for finding ancient relics.
Lara Croft GO for PC, iOS and etc. features simple, yet charming hand-drawn graphics and a soundtrack enriching the atmosphere. The turn-based movement system virtually eliminates every inconveniences of touch screens, and just like in Hitman GO, it works very well.
