Far Cry is a series of first-person shooters (FPS) with a sandbox gameplay model. The leading theme of the series is spectacular shootouts using modern firearms, but the developers are not afraid to experiment and from time to time serve players a trip to completely different realities, such as distant prehistory (where rifles and flamethrowers are replaced by bows and machetes) or an alternative world in the climate of cyberpunk (where cyborg soldiers fight using laser weapons). The series allows us to drive vehicles, including jeeps or boats with machine guns, and sometimes to ride animals (such as elephants). Starting with the third installment, RPG-like elements, such as crafting and character skill development, began to enter the series. Later installments were also equipped with level editors.

Game Ratings for Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars Video Game.
IGN: 5.5 / 10 by Daemon Hatfield
Lost On Mars is a strange choice for a Far Cry 5 expansion, and this risky change of scenery doesn't pay off. While it does feature a hilarious fan-favorite character, I just wish the gameplay was as inventive as the dialogue and gun nomenclature. It's too bad Ubisoft couldn't find a way to make an alien world feel more interesting than the Montana countryside. Even with the addition of a jetpack, lasers, and alien bugs this planet feels dull as red dirt. If you didn't buy the season pass, the trip to Mars hardly seems worth it.
Skill Up: 4 / 10 by Ralph Panebianco
For me, the thing that about this DLC that really struck me, and the reason I'm doing this video today is because for a DLC set in the future, this really feels like the Ubisoft of the past. I understand the commercial realities of Gold Passes and attach rates at launch, but a release like this does more harm than good in the big scheme of things, and I really hope that Ubi look at this DLC as a reminder of how far they've moved beyond a product of this quality, rather than thinking that this minimal viable offering is an acceptable way to prop up the ageing season pass business model.
Cubed3: 6 / 10 by Chris Leebody
From a pure mechanical point of view Lost on Mars is decent. It generally retains the fun of Far Cry 5 action in a different setting and story. The problem comes in the execution, with the previous originality and variety of missions and situations replaced by bland tower climbing and frustratingly repetitive boss fights. There is humour in Hurk and his tale and the AI 'ANNE' displays all the traits of a typically psychopathic computer system well. However, this humour only goes so far and can't assist in battling through the hours and hours of looped gameplay with weapon upgrades being the only meaningful reward for doing so. It is fair to say it hasn't been a vintage collection of expansion campaigns for Season Pass holders so far, with many arguably wanting more quality so far for Far Cry 5. Hopefully, the final one will make up for these disappointments.
