Far Cry 5 for PC, PS4 and XONE is the fifth installment of the best-selling first-person shooter series developed by Ubisoft Montreal, a subsidiary of the French company Ubisoft. The game was released on many platforms, including PCs. Unlike the series’ previous games that took place in many exotic parts of the world Far Cry 5 takes the players to Montana, one of the least populated states in the USA located in the south west part of the country, near the border with Canada. However, this is not the only changed introduced by the developers. For the first time in the history of the series we are able to create our own character and can finish the game’s story in coop with another player.

The Plot

Far Cry 5 for PC, PS4 and XONE takes place in the fictional Hope county in the state of Montana. We play as a police officer whose job is to work out and destroy the crime organization that works under the cover of a fanatic religious cult known as The Project At Eden’s Gate. The group is led by Joseph Seed who ruthlessly deals with his opponents whom he calls the sinners. Once again we will have to face a sadistical and charismatic villain. We are not alone in our fight. As we play, we will make some allies, like Mary May Fairgrave (Seed kidnapped her family), Nick Rye (a pilot that is concerned with the safety of his family), and pastor Jerome Jeffries (he fights with the fanatics for the greater good).

Far Cry Game Series

Far Cry is a series of first-person shooters (FPS) with a sandbox gameplay model. The leading theme of the series is spectacular shootouts using modern firearms, but the developers are not afraid to experiment and from time to time serve players a trip to completely different realities, such as distant prehistory (where rifles and flamethrowers are replaced by bows and machetes) or an alternative world in the climate of cyberpunk (where cyborg soldiers fight using laser weapons). The series allows us to drive vehicles, including jeeps or boats with machine guns, and sometimes to ride animals (such as elephants). Starting with the third installment, RPG-like elements, such as crafting and character skill development, began to enter the series. Later installments were also equipped with level editors.

VideoGamer: 9 / 10 by Colm Ahern

In its quieter moments Hope County is a picturesque backdrop to terrific Prepper Stash puzzles, and an over-the-top fantasy playground when the volume is turned up. Taking on Eden's Gate is compelling, horrific, and an awful lot of fun.

Polygon: 6.5 / 10 by Ben Kuchera

What's left if you have the stomach to ignore the story? A very enjoyable game with an immense number of things to do, a beautifully recreated portion of the United States, and a collection of missions with wildly varying tones and structure. It's a finely tuned open-world game stapled onto a story that's insultingly bad.
