A slapstick comedy adventure game. Thank Goodness You're Here! has us playing as a traveling salesman, exploring the town of Barnsworth, meeting its inhabitants and completing tasks for them while waiting to meet the mayor.
Thank Goodness You're Here! is an indie slapstick comedy adventure game. It was developed by Coal Supper and published by Panic.
Thank Goodness You're Here! is set in a fictional town of Barnsworth, in Northern England. The game's protagonist is a traveling salesman, having arrived to meet the mayor. Since they came too early, they pass their time by exploring and meeting the locals, who give them various, increasingly stranger tasks.
The game's story is based on traditional Yorkshire folklore.
The gameplay of Thank Goodness You're Here! consists of two layers. The first is exploring Barnsworth from the isometric perspective. We must travel around the town, meet its inhabitants and accept various tasks, such as lawnmowing or baking cakes. Over time, the missions become increasingly stranger, leading to weirder and wackier adventures. Completing tasks unlocks new areas of the town, and therefore new characters and new tasks. The second are side-scrolling action sequences, requiring good reflexes.
Thank Goodness You're Here!features colorful, cartoonish visuals.
