An auto battler game, combining strategy and logic elements. Godslayer Arena reminds of games such as Diablo or Path of Exile, but the combat happens automatically. Instead of having actual control, our job is to select and arrange spells for our characters.

Godslayer Arena is an original production that includes elements of hack'n'slash and roguelike genres, as well as mechanics borrowed from auto battlers. Such a combination, along with the rules on which the gameplay is based, makes it a game on the border of puzzle and logic titles. The game was developed by the independent American studio Hippo Rider Games, which has the project Spirits of the Hellements in its portfolio.

Gameplay

In Godslayer Arena the action is viewed from an isometric perspective.

Automatic combat

The gameplay loop was based on a unique idea. We are dealing with a production that at first glance may remind us of games like Diablo or Path of Exile. The difference, however, is that combat is fully automated here. Once it starts, we have no influence over the actions of our character. The key to success on the battlefield is therefore how we prepare for the skirmish before we have to take up arms.

Preparing characters for battles

Our role is to choose the spells that our character will use on the battlefield. Spells are arranged from left to right, and each of them has been equipped with unique features determining the effects of its action. Equipping a hero with three spells of the same characteristics allows us to upgrade them, significantly increasing their combat potential.
