Goodnight Universe is a narrative adventure game with an artistic flair. The game was developed by the independent studio Nice Dream, founded by developers who previously delivered the genre-related Before Your Eyes.

Plot

In Goodnight Universe we play as six-month-old Isaac - a child with psychic abilities. Due to his skills, our character has become the target of a mysterious technology corporation. Meanwhile, the boy only desires love and acceptance from his family.

Even though the events we participate in can be fun, the story touches on sensitive topics, which can be heartbreaking.

SmashPad: 2.5 / 5 by Danreb Victorio

Goodnight Universe does have its captivating points and the story did leave a smile on my face when I rolled credits, but that was mostly because I was finally done. There just isn’t enough here to recommend it at this point of the year at the price its being offered for, even if you played it the way it’s meant to be played–on a PC with a webcam.

Goodnight Universe ultimately proves that a face can be a controller and a confession at once. It is a family drama wrapped in light sci-fi and threaded with small, human miracles. Recommended with headphones, patience, and the willingness to be read as you read it. That reciprocity is its quiet genius.
