Grimgrad is an RTS in which you take charge of a Slavic village in medieval times and must develop it into a large metropolis. The gameplay focuses on the economic and survival aspect, requiring coping with severe weather, plagues and predators, among other things.
Grimgrad is a real-time strategy about managing a Slavic community in medieval times. The game was developed by Juvty Worlds, a studio known for its Wild Terra series.
The game is an RTS that focuses on economic aspects. The player starts with a small village, but his goal is to develop it to the level of a large city - with residential and industrial districts and a dense network of roads.
We have to take care of gathering raw materials, producing food and useful items, and erecting new buildings and improving existing ones. An important role is also played by the development of technology and the issuance of decrees, affecting the life of the community in such matters as government or relations with the church and nobility.
The gameplay is varied by numerous random events, during which we have to make difficult decisions with serious consequences felt in later stages of the game.
During the gameplay, the player is also forced to interact with Slavic deities and fight plagues, predators and harsh weather. An important role is also played by executions and heretics, who can make a lot of trouble for us, but we can also use them to make life miserable for our rivals.
The game only has a single-player mode.
Grimgrad features fully three-dimensional graphics, which well reflects the atmosphere of the dark Middle Ages.
