Metal Slug: Awakening

Metal Slug Code: J is a new version of the classic shooter cycle designed especially for mobile devices. This time the game was not developed by the Japanese SNK studio known from previous releases. As a developer, it was replaced by the Chinese team TiMi Studios, known for Call of Duty: Mobile and Pokémon Unite. The game uses a free-to-play model with micropayments.

Mechanics

The game adapts to the mobile format the classic features. So we get a platformer shooter. The gameplay is two-dimensional and our task is to move to the right side of the screen and eliminate hordes of enemies with a rich arsenal. The player uses various types of guns, rifles, flamethrowers and grenades.

There are several characters with different equipment and skills to choose from. The gameplay is made more attractive by occasional clashes with bosses and sections where we can steer a small tank. Moreover, from time to time we come across prisoners whose release provides various rewards.

Technical aspects

The game offers an attractive three-dimensional graphic design. It replaced the traditional 2D graphics, but the authors managed to maintain the specific cartoon style of the series.
