New World PC

New World is an MMORPG developed by the Amazon Game Studios team and set in an alternate version of the 17th century. Although the team is made up largely of experienced developers, the game has had a troubled production process and has suffered multiple delays.

Plot

In New World we find ourselves in a world inspired by the aesthetics and atmosphere of the seventeenth-century American colonies. The action of the game takes place on a fictional island Aeternum. The mysterious substance Azoth is both a source of great power and the cause of all misfortunes and plagues. The secrets of the island are also guarded by the magical forces of nature and its ancient inhabitants. We take on the role of a castaway who must survive in this dangerous world..

Gameplay

New World is a MMORPG with an open, sandbox world, which is largely shaped by the players. We can cultivate the land and obtain materials from animals and plants, make tools and weapons, construct buildings and even entire settlements. Each territory can be managed both visually and financially, for example, by imposing its taxes. The land is subject to constant transformation - the passage of time is visible, for example, in the changing seasons.

Fractions

Players can follow any path, either cooperating with others or taking the path of a loner, but it is worth noting that the greatest profits will be gained by cooperating with others during the most dangerous tasks. The land is full of supernatural creatures and wild animals, and optionally you can also fight with other players. Who we can challenge depends on our chosen faction: we can choose from the forceful Marauders, the cunning Syndicate or the noble and law-abiding Covenant. Belonging to a faction also allows you to reap the profits from the territories it controls.

Combat and death

Actions such as attacks, dodging or running require stamina, which is quickly exhausted, but also regenerates if we find a moment to rest. We also have firearms at our disposal. Death during gameplay, however, is not punished in any way - causes a decrease in the strength of carried items. The combat system is arcade-like and may evoke associations with the Dark Souls series.

The heart of the game is the huge battles when besieging fortresses. They are played both in PvP mode, when a hundred players face each other, and PvE - then fifty players fight against three times larger forces controlled by the artificial intelligence. At your disposal are siege machines, traps mounted on the walls and a system of battle points allowing you to purchase various temporary aids.

Technology

New World features a high-level 3D graphic design. The game runs on original technology - the developers managed to include both the rich in detail environment, as well as polished character models and complex particle effects. The whole is accompanied by atmospheric music. Amazon Studios' production focuses on social aspects, the best example of which is the integration with Twitch.
