Nighthawks is an RPG that enables us to take on the role of a vampire. The game is the result of cooperation between Wadjet Eye Games (e.g. Unavowed and the Blackwell series) and Richard Cobbett, who has written scenarios for such games as Sunless Skies, The Long Journey Home, Silent Streets, or Not Tonight.

Story

The game is set in an urban fantasy setting. The action takes place in an alternative version of modern world, in which the existence of vampires has become common knowledge. Their existence is tolerated by the rest of the society, but mankind carefully ensures that bloodthirsty creatures do not break the law.

We play as a vampire, which was transformed just three months ago. Initially, our priority is only to satisfy hunger, learn how to control our supernatural powers, and run a nightclub. Over time, we become entangled in a complicated intrigue involving ancient bloodsuckers and human politicians, which may change the fate of both races forever.

Mechanics

Nighthawks is a text-based RPG that places great emphasis on the narrative aspect. During the game, we gather companions and allies, progress our character, gain a wide range of supernormal abilities and regularly make difficult decisions that influence the further development of the story.

The game simulates the life of a vampire, forcing us to acquire blood and take care of other needs of our character. At the same time, we also regularly get involved in various conspiracies and adventures. The acquisition of companions also plays a key role. Each of them is unique and has its own biography, personality and story line.

The game is very non-linear. Our decisions completely change the course of the plot, and many elements are generated randomly. Thanks to this, we can play through the campaign many times, each time encountering different challenges and events.
