Nunholy Description
Nunholy is a hack'n'slash enriched with elements borrowed from the roguelike genre. The game was developed by an independent artist from South Korea, who goes by the pseudonym Chowbie. Their portfolio includes a game similar in terms of the overall theme and aesthetics - Wedding Witch.
Story
Nunholy takes us to a fantasy world dominated by vampires and allows us to embody nuns who come to the Hunter's Guild to once and for all deal with the bloodsuckers. The protagonists will stop at nothing to achieve their main goal, even if it requires the use of demonic powers.
Gameplay
In Nunholy we watch the action in an isometric view. The game features nuns varied in terms of preferred weapons and fighting style. While Preiya is a vampire hunter who mainly fights using an axe, executioner Marie keeps enemies at a distance, using a rifle and grenades, and Sain makes good use of a pair of swords.
We explore dungeons in the game and face hordes of enemies. We must be constantly moving, skillfully juggling weapons, abilities and attacks. Apart from regular enemies attacking in waves, from time to time we have to face powerful bosses. The vampires we hunt are classified in terms of strength. Since our actions are subject to evaluation, it is worth hunting for the highest-ranking vampires (only when we are ready for it).
As we progress, we gather increasingly better equipment. The game allows us to absorb the powers of defeated vampires, however we can also choose to rely solely on human abilities. We sell unnecessary items and powers to the merchants we encounter along the way, such as witches, prisoners, or gravediggers.
Graphics and mature content
The graphic design of Nunholy was maintained in a manga style. Due to the fact that the game does not shy away from eroticism (which some may find offensive), it is intended for adult audiences only.
