Burma Road is the title of a paid expansion for Order of Battle: World War II; it's a turn-based strategy game, distributed in a free-to-play model, which was created by The Artistocrats. Just like the basic version of this production, the add-on is available on the PC platform.

Story

In Order of Battle: Burma Road the player takes on the role of commander of British and Allied troops, whose primary task is to defend the Malay Peninsula and prepare the army to fight in the Burmese (now Myanmar) jungle. All this in order to thwart the plans of the Japanese Empire, whose target is the title Burma Road, which is the main supply channel for Chinese troops.

Mechanics

Campaign prepared by the devs of Order of Battle: Burma Road consists of thirteen scenarios played, among others, in Singapore, Thailand, Burma and India. The new theatre of activities translates into a topography of the area to which tactics need to be adapted; the whole thing is based on historical maps.

In addition, the devss gave us previously unavailable units, which both supply the ranks of known factions, as well as represent new armies (Thai and India). There are also historical figures, such as William Slim (thanks to him Burma eventually liberated itself from the Japanese occupation), Orde Wingate (founder of the 77th Infantry Brigade, the so-called Chindits, operating behind the Japanese army and attacking their supply lines), the ace pilot Elsdon and Mahatma Gandhi.

Technical aspects

Burma Road is a non-standalone add-on, so it requires the basic version of the game to work.
