  • Visuals and World Design: The graphics and environments are considered an improvement over the first game, with vibrant and varied locations that contribute to the overall enjoyment.
  • Engaging Story: While some reviews mention the story's shortcomings, many appreciate the engaging narrative and character development, particularly the comedic elements.

The main cons of the game

  • Clunky Controls: Many players find the controls to be frustratingly clunky, particularly when managing minions or navigating the camera, which can disrupt the flow of gameplay.

The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users

  • More Depth in Morality System: Players express a desire for a more nuanced morality system that significantly impacts gameplay and outcomes, unlike the more superficial "Destruction or Domination" choices offered.
  • Improved Save System: Users wish for a more forgiving save system with multiple save slots to avoid losing progress due to bugs or mistakes.
  • Expanded Content: Some reviews mention the absence of DLC content on PC, which limits the ability to fully upgrade characters and minions, as well as a desire for additional goblin classes or more varied missions.
  • Better Character Development: There are calls for deeper character arcs and interactions, particularly with the mistresses and other key figures in the game, to enhance emotional engagement and narrative depth.

Summary

  • Overall, while "Overlord II" has garnered a mixed reception, it is still appreciated for its humor, gameplay mechanics, and nostalgic value, with many fans hoping for a future installment in the series.
