Pillars of Eternity Game Series

Pillars of Eternity is a series of isometric projection RPGs with strong references to such classics of the genre as Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale. The player travels through the author's fantasy world, commanding a team of colorful characters. At the head of the company is the protagonist, whose characteristics can be freely adjusted at the beginning of the game. Rich in descriptions and stories, the carefully created world offers a whole range of dialogue options and opportunities to interact with NPCs. Of course, there are also battles, which are fought in real time (with the option of active pause). As we perform successive tasks, our team grows in strength, learning new skills and acquiring better equipment.

Game News Plus: 9 / 10 by Umut Uyurkulak

All in all, if you want to play a new story which is 5-8 hours long, this DLC is perfect for you. You won't regret buying it as it actually offers a small portion of everything that you might expect from a DLC. Beast of Winter is a good story addition to the original game. And I strongly recommend trying it out.

Expansive: 7 / 10 by Laurie Jones

Beast of Winter is an absolutely fine piece of DLC. It made me chuckle a few times, I really enjoyed the major battles and the game looks as stunning as ever. Most importantly, I was gripped from beginning to end. I was just very surprised by how sudden and abruptly it all ended and how little my characters got to benefit from the new items. While the stakes are higher than normal, Beast of Winter just felt like a slightly longer quest that had been added to my journal rather than a new expansion. It was very nice to revisit Deadfire for an afternoon, it’s just a shame that there wasn’t much to digest at the end of it.

What Beast of Winter lacks in content it makes up for in depth with an intriguing plunge into the history of Eora.
