Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City for PC, PS3 and X360 is another spin-off installment of the popular survival horror series. This time around, Capcom decided to entrust its franchise to Slant Six Games, the creators of the SOCOM series.

Plot

The action takes place in 1998 and is strongly connected to the second and third installment of the series. In the game, we assume the role of Umbrella Security Services (USS) agents, enemies of the characters that we controlled in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. The developers of Operation Raccon City presented a tripartite conflict between the USS, the USA special forces, and biologically modified monsters created by Umbrella, represented primarily by hordes of zombies.

Resident Evil Game Series

Resident Evil is a series of Japanese survival horrors published by Capcom. Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara are mainly responsible for its creation. The series started on March 22, 1996, with the release of Resident Evil (also known as Biohazard) on the PlayStation console. It was during its marketing campaign that the term survival horror was coined. The prototype of the series is the game Sweet Home released in 1989, based on the film of the same name. Fujiwara himself was responsible for it, and many elements, such as QTE sequences or inventory management, were transferred to the Biohazard series. Since then, it has grown steadily, gaining more game installments, as well as movie, animation, comic book and novel adaptations.
