Sacred 2: Fallen Angel for PS3 and X360 is the second installment in a series of cRPGs; the original game came out in 2004. Although initially the game was announced exclusively for PCs, the creators decided to release their product also for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The game is set 2000 years before the events depicted in the previous installment. The fantasy world of Ankaria is yet to be shaped, so the inhabitants are constantly witnessing conflicts between good and evil.
In these dangerous times, the player has six characters at their disposal, differing in their combat skills, spells and weaponry. Temple Guardian, High Elf and Shadow Warrior fight for the dark side; they are opposed by the light side, consisting of Dryad, Seraphim and Inquisitor. Obviously, selecting one's character decides which of the two campaigns one will be playing.
The experience is based mainly on travelling from one location to another and taking different assignments in towns and villages. Both the main missions and side quests are given by NPCs. In order to facilitate communication, the creators implemented portals and a wide variety of mountable creatures, such as gryphons, dragons or pure-bred stallions. As for the combat, the player often encounters different enemies - against them, the protagonist uses mainly melee weapons and spells, which can be combined into larger sequences.
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel for PS3 and X360 offers a lot of game modes. In the story mode, one can go through both the aforementioned campaigns, or put themselves to a test without getting involved in the story itself. In the multiplayer component, four players collectively fight against their foes online. Also, arenas were included, and those allow two players to fight quick duels; one player can fight against an AI-controlled character as well.
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel for PS3 and X360 has a practical head-up display designed for use of gamepads. A lot of small, technical drawbacks of the PC edition were removed.
