Release Date: Q4 2026
A post-apocalyptic strategy game, inspired by such titles as Caesar III, Anno, or Pharaoh. The gameplay in Seabed Settlers is about building an underwater metropolis. We must gather resources, raise buildings and take care of the needs and the safety of our residents.
Tense Games is an independent development studio from the Netherlands, which has been focusing on strategy games since the beginning. After the release of Stellar Warfare in 2021, the developers began working on two more titles from this genre. The first one was Fractured Alliance, while the second one is the Seabed Settlers described here. It was inspired by the game Caesar III, as well as by Anno and Pharaoh series.
In Seabed Settlers events are viewed in an isometric perspective. During the game we take on the role of managers of an underwater metropolis, and our job is to lead it to greatness. It is not easy, as all issues related to the functioning of the settlement at the bottom of the ocean rest on our shoulders.
We primarily focus on gathering resources and constructing various buildings. Among the latter, we can find a habitat that is home to settlers, installations capturing oxygen and generating energy, mines and oil extractors, as well as hospitals.
We also need to take care of the colonists' needs, providing them with access to food and oxygen, but also culture and entertainment. We need to keep their safety in mind as well, as they are threatened by mutated creatures.
As the settlement progresses, it develops and the prosperity of its inhabitants increases. Happy colonists are eager to start families, thereby increasing the population. The development of a colony also means access to an increasingly wider range of buildings, resources and technologies.
It's worth remembering that we are not alone at the bottom of the ocean. The game allows us to trade with other establishments similar to ours, as well as participate in faction competition.
Seabed Settlers takes us to a post-apocalyptic world, where the surface is no longer suitable for habitation. As if that wasn't enough, the radiation left over from the bombings transformed people into mutated beings. Those who managed to survive were forced to move to the bottom of the ocean.
