A tactical RPG with additional card game and roguelike mechanics. Shuffle Tactics was inspired by titles such as Final Fantasy Tactics or Slay the Spire. We control a hero and his companions, participating in turn-based duels during their journey, featuring various types of cards.
Shuffle Tactics is a tactical RPG, enriched with mechanics borrowed from card games and the roguelike genre. The game was developed by the independent French studio Club Sandwich. The main sources of inspiration for its creators were primarily the games Final Fantasy Tactics and Slay the Spire.
In Shuffle Tactics the action is shown in an isometric view.
The main element of the gameplay are turn-based skirmishes with opponents. Battles take place in arenas covered with a grid of square fields. We lead heroes chosen by us and their assistants.
Each of the heroes has an individual set of skills and strong and weak points. The same applies to their companions, among whom we will find a scout, a necromancer, or an assassin. They are reflected in decks of cards associated with specific attacks and abilities that we play during combat. The key to success is therefore not only the proper positioning of units on the battlefield, but also composing such a set of cards, the individual elements of which will complement each other.
Additionally, the game allows us to make use of the power of Glimmer. It poses a risk, so it's worth thinking twice before deciding to take such a step.
As progress is made, the relationships between individual heroes and their companions are strengthened, which translates into the development of their skills, and consequently - their growing combat potential.
On the other hand, death in the game is permanent. When we fall on the battlefield, we can start a new playthrough (keeping the selected upgrades), not necessarily in the skin of the same hero.
Shuffle Tactics takes us to the fantasy Kingdom of Asteria, which is on the verge of collapse due to the so-called Glimmer Curse. During the game, we take on the roles of characters whose goal is to overthrow the evil king Ogma and avert the crisis before things go too far.
The graphic design of Shuffle Tactics was made in pixel art technique.

Game Ratings for Shuffle Tactics Video Game.
Entertainium: 3.5 / 5 by Callum Rakestraw
A slow rollout of characters and decks creates a rather plain early game, but Shuffle Tactics shines once everything opens up.
Final Weapon: 2.5 / 5 by Jordan Brown
Shuffle Tactics fails its art style and interesting game mechanics with an unpolished UI and a multitude of bugs. There is an interesting game to be found here, but asking players to trudge through the horrible camera, visual and mechanical bugs, and poor UI decisions to get to it is inexcusable. Hopefully, after a few patches and a camera overhaul, Shuffle Tactics will be worth the time and effort, but as it stands now, there are too many other strong roguelike/deckbuilders on the market that your time would be better spent playing.
Gamer Escape: 5 / 10 by Eliot Lefebvre
I don’t think the game is truly atrocious, and I think if you’re in need of another roguelike game and you have played all of the offerings out there, this will… perform as advertised. But I can’t really recommend it to others.
