A tactical jRPG developed by SEGA company in collaboration with Imageepoch studio. Game takes place in a fantasy real, which has been an oasis of peace and harmony for centuries. This state, however, was tainted by the sinister witch Hilda, whose ominous song gradually destroys the existing reality. Main protagonist of the game, knight Alto, is given the task of stopping her.
Stella Glow is a tactical RPG game in which the player moves into a fantasy world maintained in a typical manga and anime stylist. Our team must prevent the destruction of the planet by traversing further maps. The Imageepoch studio is responsible for the production of the Nintendo 3DS version.
At first glance, the title's feature line does not look exaggeratedly original. The world in which we have found ourselves for centuries is an oasis of peace and harmony. At some point, however, this ideal condition is brutally interrupted for unknown reasons. Behind the unleashing of complete chaos stands a witch Hilda - her ominous song gradually destroys the existing reality. Alto, a young knight who is the main character, is given the task of stopping the witch. He realizes, however, that he will not be able to cope with its power on his own. During his journey he tries to recruit other witches to his unit, which would help him to face his opponent. Each of our helpers has his own song - in order to use their full potential, we have to discover a special sound combination and gain the attention of the companions.
The game was divided into two separate segments. In the first one we observe the action from an isometric perspective and walk freely around the map of the world. When we meet an opponent on the board, the view becomes more detailed - the tactical fights were realized in full 3D. The character models were designed by Shakodo Shinjin and do not differ from the trends set in this type of productions. The special feature is a bit "too big" character's head, i.e. super deformed style.
The rest of Stella Glow's visuals look good. Due to the technical limitations of the Nintendo 3DS, we are dealing with a much simplified world, however, any inconvenience is compensated for by the players using very effective film interludes, maintained in the style of manga and anime.

Game Ratings for Stella Glow Video Game.
Game Revolution: 3 / 5 by Ryan Bates
As Imageepoch's swan song, it may not be a slam dunk, but it's clear that Stella Glow was crafted with care from people who know the genre, even if at times you just have to stare at whatever just happened in disbelief and say, "Okay, whatever, game."
ZTGD: 8 / 10 by Jae Lee
While the story is a bit too predictable for my tastes, everything from the visuals to the combat felt very polished from beginning to end. It's quite unfortunate that this is likely the last game Imageepoch will release, but perhaps they will rest well knowing that they went out on a high note.
GamingTrend: 80 / 100 by Lucious Barnes
Stella Glow isn't reinventing the wheel here, but to its benefit it's not trying to. It's trying to be a fun, engaging, and relatively brief tactical J-RPG that signs the end of Imageepoch's tenor with a franchise they started. The story is anime-solid. The combat and social mini-games are enjoyable, and what few irritants the game does have are easily bested by any invested role-playing gamer. Stella Glow has a talent for keeping you engaged all the way through, which is a rare trait for the increasingly niche world of Japanese Role Playing games.
