Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a classic 2D platformer and part of an iconic series originating from 1985. It was developed and published by Nintendo, the owners of the franchise.

Mechanics

Super Mario Bros. Wonder features a wide roster of playable characters, including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi and Toad. They all traverse a wacky world full of wonders.

At first glance, the gameplay doesn't differ much from previous classic installments of the series. The game is a side-scroller, players move to the right, jump from platform to platform, avoid traps, pits and obstacles and jump onto enemies. On the way we collect power-ups that grant Mario and his friends additional abilities.

The headliner power-up in this game is the Wonder Flower which changes the world around us beyond recognition. Pipes come to life, enemies appear out of nowhere, while our heroes shift forms, changing into heavy spiked balls, elephants and the like. All this affects the gameplay in unpredictable ways, bringing a breath of fresh air.

Game modes

Super Mario Bros. Wonder supports singleplayer and local co-op for up to four people.

Technical aspects

Super Mario Bros. Wonder boasts colorful 2.5D visuals and a new, appealing, cartoonish artstyle.
