Fantasy War Tactics invites us to a classic fantasy realm, where you become a student of a prestigious university of magic arts. The protagonist intends to conquer the entire world, however, he discovers that it has already been conquered by the organization set up by his university rival. The hero decides to dethrone his rival and become the ruler of the world himself.

The plot combines threads from the previous iterations, and is set in three different epochs. Thus the player is taken 10 thousand years back and visits the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. Then the game fasts-forward to 2100, and the action now takes place in Tokyo.

The action of Atlas Reactor is set in a futuristic metropolis in which rich investment fund companies fight for influence. Since their employees avoid getting their hands dirty, they hire trained mercenary groups to do the dirty work for them, and the players are the commanders. Each crew consists of several warriors of different personalities and skills.

The protagonist encounters difficulties embodied by hostile creatures and ruthless looters, and the player has to deal with them.
