Tales of Spark PC

Tales of Spark is a hack'n'slash game set in the wuxia style. This is a term originating from the Chinese language, used in the context of stories about heroes belonging to higher social classes and possessing supernatural abilities. The game was developed by the independent Ice and Fire Isle Studio.

Plot

Tales of Spark takes us to a fantasy version of China during the Tang dynasty period (years 618-907) and it's inspired by local mythology. The heavens are supported by Mount Buzhou, which was almost completely destroyed during one of the divine conflicts. During the reconstruction, four magic sparks - fire, thunder, cold, and poison - were created and then were distributed to four distant corners of the world. The legend says that whoever manages to collect them all will possess unimaginable power, which is why various forces have been seeking them over the years.

The main character of the game is Yuwen Jingzhe from the Kunlun Sect. When the witch MangZi appeared at his school, bringing news of unrest on the border, the protagonist is appointed by the leader to investigate the matter. In this way, Yuwen becomes entangled in a high-stakes intrigue, on which the fate of the entire world will depend.

Mechanics

In Tales of Spark, we watch the action from an isometric view. The game provides us with a vast, open world, in which we will find beautiful valleys, snow-capped mountain peaks and a sandy desert, as well as extensive dungeons. While traversing these locations (on foot or on horseback), we complete various quests and face hordes of opponents.

During dynamic skirmishes, we make use of a wide range of weapons (melee and firearms), as well as magic and various combat abilities. In addition to regular enemies, powerful bosses stand in our way.

As we progress, we develop the character, learning new abilities and improving the ones we already have, as well as acquiring better equipment. Additionally, the collected equipment can be upgraded using jadeite stones.
