Diablo Immortal is a mobile spin-off of popular series of RPG action games Diablo. The developer of the game is a Chinese company NetEase, specializing in free-to-play productions aimed at the East Asian market, as well as an American studio Blizzard Entertainment, responsible for the creation of the brand. Diablo Immortal was announced in early November 2018 at the BlizzCon Convention.
The story presented in the Diablo Immortal takes place between events known from Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III. The Archangel Tyrael is considered dead, and after the destruction of the World Stones, the remnants of the vile and demonic power that causes further disasters to fall on people are still smouldering in their fragments. What's more, one of the surviving demons, Skarn, a former Diablo adjacent to Diablo, decides to build a new army of hellish servants and collect shrapnel to bring back the ancient evil.
Diablo Immortal remains a classic action RPG, in which the game is presented in isometric view. Compared to the original from the PC and console, the game has changed the control scheme, which uses a touch screen to move the characters, and dedicated icons for attacks. The title offers a total of six character classes, each with several unique special abilities. While playing, we fight dozens of monsters, exploring locations representing different corners of the Sanctuary, where we have to face huge bosses at the end. Along the way we find or buy new equipment, affecting the strength of our hero.
In addition to playing alone, we can join forces with players from all over the world, fighting together against hordes of enemies and bosses.
Diablo Immortal audiovisual setting is similar to that of Diablo III. Here we are dealing with stylized, comic-style graphics, of which Blizzard is famous. Music and sound effects are also very similar to those from the third Diablo.
