Three Kingdoms: Zhao Yun makes use of a 3D isometric perspective. The game's many missions are set all around China - in beautiful valleys, huge cities, small settlements and snowy mountains.

We can traverse the land on foot or on horseback, meeting its people and various historical figures. Though we'll ally with many, we'll also face off against some on the battlefield.

Many missions end up requiring combat. Battles are fast-paced, having us wield spears, swords, bows and various special abilities. We can also fight on horseback.

To succeed, we must keep moving, dodge enemy attacks and chain our moves into deadly combos. Aside from fighting regular enemies and bosses, we'll also take part in large-scale, often historical battles.

As we progress, we develop our character, becoming stronger and acquiring better mounts. We'll also find and craft better gear; equipment can be upgraded, enchanted and combined into sets.
