Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance PC

Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance is a real-time war strategy game set in the universe of a popular movie franchise. It was initially worked on by Russian studio Cats Who Play, known for Syrian Warfare, but they were removed from the project in 2023 by the publisher - Slitherine.

Plot

Story-wise, the game is a prequel to the movie Terminator: Dark Fate. It's set in the post-apocalyptic future, in which the remnants of humanity fight against the mechanical army of a murderous AI, Legion.

The story covers the beginnings of the human resistance. The player must lead a group of survivors, help them survive further, recruit new members and form an army to face Legion.

Mechanics

Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance is a real-time strategy game focused on war. The player must face both the mechanical Legion forces and hostile human factions. We can use firearms of various kinds, combat lasers, drones, vehicles and aircraft.

As we progress through the game, we recruit more soldiers, develop their skills and unlock better equipment.

A key mechanic is the machine destruction system. Each machine is built out of multiple components, damaging which affects the unit. The environment is also heavily destructible thanks to the realistic physics engine.

Game modes

The game features a story campaign, as well as 1v1, 2v1 and 2v2 multiplayer.
