The Council is an adventure game comprising of five separate episodes. The action of the game is set on an island, on which members of a secret society of influential people from the second half of 18th century arrive to hold their meetings. During their adventure, the players have to explore various locations, talk to NPCs, make difficult decisions, and solve puzzles using the system of fifteen skills that can be developed throughout the game.

The PC, PS4 and XONE release of The Council is an episodic adventure game developed by Big Bad Wolf and published by Focus Home Interactive.

Plot

The action of The Council begins in 1793. The player assumes the role of Luis de Richet – a member of a secret society who gets invited onto an island owned by mysterious lord Mortimer. Among other guests, there are such games as Napoleon Bonaparte and George Washington; each one with his or her own plans and ambitions that players discover during their adventure. Moreover, one is tasked with solving the mystery of the disappearing of main protagonist's mother.
