The Escapists for PC, AND and etc. is a game that is hard to categorize. It could be described as a prisoner simulator that combines elements of action, adventure, cRPG and logic games. It is a work of an independent studio, Mouldy Toof (the creators of Spud’s Quest) published by a well known company, Team17.

Mechanics

In The Escapists for PC, AND and etc. the player assumes the role of a prisoner who is living inside a penitentiary facility. He lives a daily life, performs various works, works out, interacts with prison mates, eats, goes for walks etc. However, all that time he has one thing in mind: to escape. Because of that, in the meantime he observes his surroundings, looks for weak points of the security system, gathers seemingly useless items that can be actually used for crafting tools, improves the statistics of his character, looks for allies among other prisoners – until finally he decides that he is ready and realizes his plan.
