The Hacker 2.0 is a sequel to the 2012 The Hacker. Both games were developed by Angry Bugs. The game takes place in a not so distant future and has a retro-futuristic feel to it, inspired by the 80’s film and book representation of cyberpunk. We play as a hacker who has to break into well-protected computer systems in order to gather top secret data and sabotage them. The game has two primary aspects of gameplay.

The Hacker 2.0 for iOS is a strategy game with two primary aspects of gameplay. We spend the time between our missions in front of a virtual desktop. The screen of our device serves as a monitor of our in-game computer with its simple operating system, icons, and useful apps. We use them to contact with our clients, to start missions, to gather useful data, to manage our income, and to invest and buy better software and hardware.
Missions themselves are presented in a form of a turn-based tactical game. We observe the virtual reality where our avatar moves around and models serving as a depiction of security software that has to stop us are located form an isometric point of view. Our hacker has various offensive (against the defense programmes), defensive (i.e. blocking the way of firewall software), and special (teleporting our enemy to a different part of the map) abilities that we use to finish our missions.
