The history and mythology of ancient Greece are full of wars and bloodshed, making them an excellent source material primarily for action and strategy games. Studio Team Mango and publisher Mayawi Software decided to combine these two approaches.

The result of this venture is The Last King described here - a hybrid of an action game and a strategy game, spiced up with a pinch of survival, in which we fight for survival in ancient Greece devastated by enemies, trying to liberate it and restore its former glory.

Gameplay

In The Last King the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP).

Noble goals

We enter an open world and take on the role of a warrior in the game. Our task is to fight against the Persians and barbarians, eliminate monsters roaming in the wilderness, and also recruit an army, at the head of which we will march against the enemy forces, liberating Greece village by village.

Work at the basics

To accomplish all of this, we must first and foremost gather resources, build a base and erect fortified marching camps, as well as deal with the production of equipment, led by weapons and armor elements. Additionally, it is necessary to recruit soldiers from diverse backgrounds and specializations.

Military operations

After deploying the army, we have no choice but to start the process of reclaiming the lands seized by the adversaries. The fights are dynamic, and during them we can not only command our units, but also take direct part in the battles. The game allows us to wield a sword or spear, or equip a bow and shoot from a safe distance.
