An Expansion Pack for the best-selling life simulator from EA Maxis. The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature focuses on allowing our Sims to live in harmony with nature. They may remain as normal Sims or become fairies with unique abilities. There are also new nature-inspired features and a new profession.
The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature is an expansion pack for the fourth installment of the best-selling life simulation series titled The Sims 4, which debuted in 2014. This add-on was developed by the creators of the original, namely the EA Maxis studio, which oversees the development of the series.
As the title suggests, The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature allows our Sims to live in harmony with nature. They can do it both as ordinary Sims and by transforming into fairies.
Normal Sims are given magical dust that allows them to cast spells on plants or animate gnomes. They can also have a number of new houseplants, caring for them in various ways (not only watering is important, but also providing them with company).
Fairies can follow two magical paths. While harmony fairies are kind, helpful beings who care about balance in nature, discord fairies love to make mischief, sow chaos, and complicate the daily lives of Sims. We can adapt their appearance to individual preferences (by choosing wings, deciding on the shade of skin or even decorating their bodies with tattoos).
Interestingly, unlike Sims, fairies do not feed on food, but on emotions. They can obtain them from the minds of Sims, as well as use special emotion potions.
The DLC features a pharmacy table, which can be used to create natural remedies. Additionally, a number of unique abilities have been implemented, such as manipulating objects, talking to animals, or influencing the moods of Sims. A new nature-related job and a new aspiration (Potion Enthusiast) also await us in the DLC.
True fans of living in harmony with nature still have the skill of a Nature Nomad, which allows them to function without modern conveniences. Natural water sources replace a shower for them, the ground serves as a bed, and catching fish can be one of their food fources.
The key element of the gameplay is balance. If we do not care about this parameter, chaos may creep into the lives of our Sims. A small lack of balance causes slower development of freedom or more difficult satisfaction of daily needs. A significant lack of balance brings with it more severe ailments. For example, our character can learn gardening faster, while suffering from chronic rage. Fortunately, based on natural ingredients, we can prepare medicines that can help deal with these problems.
Another key parameter is the happiness of our Sims, who can have good luck, bad luck, or average success, which affects what their daily life, professional career, and other aspects of their life look like. We can improve our luck by creating, finding, or buying one of the special talismans.
The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature takes us to the fantasy land of Innisgreen. Here we will find a picturesque village on the Adhmor Coast, a cozy Spruce Grove, as well as the magical Everdew forest.
The icing on the cake are the new plots created in collaboration with community members. Their works, such as the Gardens of the Whistling East, Green Stream, Bard's Boulevard or Seaside Avenue 1, draw inspiration from Irish and Celtic architecture and aesthetics, as well as refer to various fairy tales.
The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature is a non-standalone expansion, so it requires the base version of The Sims 4.
