After the release of The Sims 4, which took place in 2014 (on PC, because the item in question arrived on consoles with a three-year delay), the studio behind it, EA Maxis, engaged in large-scale development, regularly releasing new DLC. The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy is the 21st expansion (Expansion Pack) for this simulation game. As the title suggests, it allows us to taste the royal life, with all its advantages and disadvantages.
In The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy, we become the superiors of families aspiring to be royalty. As the representative of only one of them can enjoy the crown on his head, we must do our best to make sure that we are the ones to receive this honor. In order to do this, it is necessary to win the favor of the people and make decisions that are in the interest of the subjects or win allies among the nobility. In addition, the creators allow you to make upheavals. As there is no shortage of other claimants to the throne, we also have to deal with competition by challenging opponents to fencing duels or revealing their scandals.
The intrigues we uncover (and other problematic situations we "get into" ourselves) are of a varied nature. They mainly concern forbidden love, children from an illegitimate bed or... kissing frogs. Revealing one of them can leave a mark on the entire career of their participant, and even result in the loss of the title. Thus, one should make an effort to avoid being at the center of such events. When this happens, however, one should save oneself by apologizing and repairing the damage, trying to wait out the turmoil or denying everything firmly.
It is also worthwhile to ensure in advance the continuation of your dynasty by appointing an heir. In this case, too, we must be on guard, since there is no shortage of tensions and conflicts within families (for example, over succession), which can lead to rebellions and exiles.
We do all this in a new land called Ondarion. It features three biomes, namely warm Dambele, green Verdemar teeming with life and elegant, romantic Bellacorde. The long history of the noble families inhabiting these places is reflected in their appearance. Indeed, everywhere you will find lavish mansions and opportunities to attend lavish balls.
Complementing all this are new collections. The veranda is a social space that, although not completely outside, is separated from the rest of the house, thanks to glass walls providing a substitute for contact with nature. It features, among other things, unique flowers, home-garden furniture and a tea set. The style of the silver screen, meanwhile, introduces outfits ranging from a fur coat and elegant shoes to suits and lavish gowns.
The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy is a non-self-contained add-on, so it requires the base version of The Sims 4 game.

The Sims is a series created by Maxis studio and published by Electronics Arts since 2000. The games in the series can be described as life simulators, in which, directing the avatars we create, we act out scenes from everyday life, but also build them houses, which we can then furnish according to our vision. The series has sold more than 200 million copies, making it one of the world's best-selling games, and has twice made it into the Guinness Book of World Records.
