RTS with RPG elements, which takes us to the Middle Ages. In The Valiant we take control over knights who try to stop a crusader overwhelmed with lust for power from recovering all the fragments of an ancient artifact.
The Valiant is a real-time strategy game with RPG elements. It was developed by Kite Games studio, known for Sudden Strike 4 and S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster projects, and it was published by THQ Nordic.
The Valiant takes us to the Middle Ages. The main hero of the game is Theoderich von Akenburg - former crusader, who fifteen years ago put away his sword and never reached for it again. However, fate had other plans for him. During his last crusade, Theoderich and his friend Ulrich von Grevel found a fragment of Aaron's staff, an ancient artifact that hides a powerful weapon that in the wrong hands could threaten the whole world. The peaceful life of Theoderich, unaware of the impending safety, comes to an end when the monk Malcom pays him a visit. The unexpected guest informs him of Ulrich's obsession with finding the remaining parts of Aaron's staff. Having no other choice, the protagonist must once again take up the sword and set off on a journey to find and stop his old friend. Fortunately the hero is not doomed to go it alone; along the way he is joined by other daredevils, such as the battle-hardened knight Reinhard von Kempten and the ambitious mercenary Grimhild Eidottr.
In The Valiant we observe the action from a top-down view. The pillar of the game is the story campaign with 15 missions, which throws us into different corners of the medieval world - from Europe to the Middle East. Realizing the tasks set before us, we command heroes and their teams. Each hero has an individual set of active and passive skills, which we unlock as we progress. Besides, the protagonist and his entourage gain more powerful equipment, over time becoming more effective in combat. And since we're talking about fighting - battles take place in real time, and during them it is as important to use the abilities of individual heroes and combine them in various combinations, as it is to place particular units correctly.
In addition to the story campaign, The Valiant offers a co-op survival mode in which three players work together to fight off hordes of enemies. In addition, the game features a PvP mode, which allows for one-on-one and two-on-two battles.
The Valiant has a very good graphics quality. Units have been designed with attention to detail, and the locations are varied and full of various flavors.

Game Ratings for The Valiant Video Game.
GameLuster: 6 / 10 by Axel Cushing
"The Valiant" give players hungry for a squad-based RTS something new to chew on. Its aesthetics are in the right place but certain design choices may frustrate even fans of the genre.
Cubed3: 5 / 10 by Eric Ace
The Valiant's story is actually pretty interesting, but the gameplay (one of the core aspects of strategy titles) is just very middling. Unit issues like pathing and not all of them fighting, the fact that there's not much to really do, and the very "samey" combat unfortunately side-line the story. This feels a little too unpolished to have been released yet.
COGconnected: 75 / 100 by Mark Steighner
Generally, The Valliant on consoles is a success. Controls make sense and don’t inhibit the flow. Whatever issues there are lie in the core of the game. A lack of mechanical originality and some repetitive or frustrating missions are offset by a decent story and acting. It’s also refreshing to play a unit-based RTS game that isn’t set in WW2 or a sci-fi world.
