The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Expansion Pack
Release Date: 2026 Unofficial
At the time of its release in 2015, and for many years thereafter, The Witcher 3: Wild Gon from the CD Projekt RED studio remained, at the very least, one of the most important productions in the history of the Polish video game industry, making a lasting mark on the entire genre of open-world action RPGs. The first two expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, were released within a year of the title's debut. Ten years after its release, unofficial rumors began to appear, according to which a third expansion to this masterpiece was to be created.
The first reports about the third add-on to The Witcher 3: Wild Game saw the light of day in June 2025. It emerged that, for the purpose of the project in question, CD Projekt RED had teamed up with the Fool's Theory studio, which at the time was already officially developing a remake of the first Witcher. A?lmost a year later, in December 2025, Mateusz Chrzanowski, an analyst at Noble Securities, admitted that he "assumes" that the DLC in question will appear in May 2026. In addition, he estimated the budget of the entire project at PLN 52 million.
Further unofficial news about this as yet untitled add-on brought January 2026. At that time, the Polish branch of the IGN website revealed that years ago CD Projekt RED was said to be trying to develop a third expansion for The Witcher 3, the action of which was to be set in Zerrikania.
As this eastern land differed significantly from those depicted in The Wild Hunt and The Witcher 4, announced at the end of 2024 (the steppes and deserts were the fruit of a powerful dragon's activity), it seemed likely that the developers might want to revisit an as-yet-unused concept. In addition, there were indications at the time that the DLC would focus on Ciri's grass trial. Thus, as Chrzanowski predicted, the release of the third Witcher 3 add-on would kick off the marketing campaign for the fourth installment of the series.
