A 2.5D slasher where we control a female vampire capable of switching between two forms. Playing as a human in Vampiress: Eternal Duet allows us to regain health and weaken enemies. Switching to a bloodsucker form makes it possible to unleash deadly attacks at the cost of our own health.
Many games that allow us to embody vampires make these bloodsuckers beings with supernatural powers, free from any limitations or weaknesses. The team at Realm Weaver Studio, when creating their platform action slasher game titled Vampiress: Eternal Duet, decided to go somewhat against the grain by forcing us to skillfully utilize both the vampire and human "sides" of the main character.
In Vampiress: Eternal Duet, the action is viewed from the side. During the game we explore dark locations illuminated by the glow of colorful neon lights and engage in battles with opponents. We eliminate the fantasy creatures that stand in our way by fighting them in melee combat.
The female character we embody has two forms. In her human form, the protagonist is weaker and slower, and her staff attacks weaken enemies. After transforming into a vampire, she wields a large scythe, and her attacks become faster, more powerful, and most importantly - deadly.
The situation is complicated by the fact that in her bloodsucker form, the vampire gradually loses health, and to replenish it, she must switch to her human form. As we progress, we develop the protagonist by unlocking new combat skills, allowing us to face increasingly greater challenges over time.
Enemies are not merely "cannon fodder," as during combat they enter what is known as Aether Frenzy, gaining access to powerful attacks and abilities. When they are about to use them, a glint appears in their eyes. If we manage to deliver the right attack at that moment, we can stun them and briefly make them vulnerable to execution. We then have a small "window" to deliver a bloody finisher.
Vampiress: Eternal Duet transports us to a world that looks contemporary but serves as an arena for a conflict between humans and demons. The main character of the game is a vampiress who, in her quest to find her long-lost sister, decides to collaborate with a suspicious broker and begins to carry out missions assigned by him.
The graphics of Vampiress: Eternal Duet are created using 2.5D technology.
