Vandals is a game by French studio Cosmographik. The company is owned by Theo Le Du Fuentes, a designer, who used to work as the creative director of the popular platform game Type:Rider (over 2 million copies sold). The game was developed in cooperation with TV station ARTE France and studio Ex Nihilo.
The main theme of Vandals is quite interesting, as the production focuses on street art, created in unusual places. One well-known street artist in the famous Banksy. During the game, however, you play as other people, such as French graffiti artist Blek Le Rat or the late Keith Haring.
Vandals is a turn-based logic puzzle game, similar to the 2014 Hitman GO. Your task is to create various designs (from ordinary tags to small works of art) on the walls in large cities, e.g. Paris, Berlin or New York. Interestingly, you can share you art via social media. Before you create anything, however, you have to get into places, which are increasingly heavily guarded. In each turn you move by one field, connected to others by straight lines. The policemen can be avoided in many ways; for example, you can distract them with a bottle or a whistle, go through a hole in the fence, tinker with electricity, etc. There are 60 puzzles to solve — simple at first, but getting more difficult with each new task.
Vandals features simple visuals, stylistically based on the main theme of the production. The game also features an original soundtrack.
